![]() Elemental Arts by Lethea In New Zealand we’re surrounded by so much natural beauty, it’s easy to take it for granted and not look deeply at it. When we do that, we miss a lot of the breathtaking transitory beauty that unfolds daily in our own garden, our neighbourhood, our region, and our interactions with people and animals. Through my photography, I challenge viewers to look more closely at the world around them, to “see with new eyes” what’s right under their noses. Unlike painters, who are free to manipulate the elements of natural scenes to create harmonious compositions, colours, patterns, emotional energy and visual flow, the photographer’s challenge is to recognise and reveal the compositions that are already there, complete in themselves, “hiding in plain sight” within Nature’s vast canvas. “Seeing photographically” deepens my experience of awe and wonder at Nature – the greatest Artist of all – and I would like my images to help other people have that experience too.
